Vivaldi, Spring - The Four Seasons - Clearly Advanced CD Project
Vivaldi, Spring - The Four Seasons
One of the most famous and well-loved of all baroque works, the four seasons are the first of 12 concerti that make up Il Cemento Dell'armonia e dell'inventione ( The Contest of Harmony and Invention). Most of Vivaldi's repertoire was re-discovered only in the first half of the 20th century in Turin and Genoa, but was published in the second half. His music is innovative, breaking tradition; he put the beauty of life back into the formal and the rhythmic structure, looking for contrasts in the melody, and invented innovative harmonies and themes.
